SRC Member magern2 Posted July 13, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted July 13, 2004 Recently, I connected my chiller to an Eheim external filter. While doing that, I connected a smaller diameter rubber tubing (hose) to a larger one by just pushing the smaller one into the bigger one. Now its leaking slightly. How can I seal the joint so that it wont leak or get disconnected and turn my living room into swimming pool for the 100th time? Can use epoxy to seal from the outside? Was thinking of that so that I don have to disconnect the tubings and washing and drying it before using silicone.

SRC Member marcvelous Posted July 13, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted July 13, 2004 My advice is better don't use silicon. My personal experience with such joints, cleaned, dried and applied over 5 layers over a few days is that after some time, the water will find some ways of squeezing through. Better use proper adapters unless you wish to join your LS for a swim. Cheers
