Can Coral Chip replace ARM?

I have recently removed a lot of coral chips from my sump. The question is, can I wash these coral chips and use them in the Calcium Reactor?

What is the difference between ARM and coral chips? It is expensive to spend so much on ARM (coral chips).

I dont think much off a diff, except that ARM is aragonite media that dissolves at a higher ph, hence saving you CO2 in the long run.

ARM can be quite expensive right. A tub of 3.6kg is like $50. That's a lot of money for coral chip. hehehehe

Your coral chips will probably release a lot of phosphates into the water which is why all good calcium media is only made of higher quality calcium carbonate that is proven and tested to not have a lot of heavy metals or phosphates binded into them.

Bad idea.
