SRC Member legos36 Posted July 8, 2021 SRC Member Share Posted July 8, 2021 Hi everyone! I'm planning to start a nano tank from scratch for my new home office space. Meaning i'll have to source for: Tank Filter Lights Pump Wavemaker Nutrients My rough plan is to inhabit it with: 2-4 reef fishes (clown, goby) 2 soft corals Live rock Live sand I understand that bioload concern will be an issue. But can this be helped by having a good filtration system and more regular water changes(weekly)? If so, what is a good overhead filter to get? Appreciate any other form of advice you may have for someone embarking on such a project. Thank you! PS: would've loved 3ft tank like I had in the past but space constraints ):
SRC Member mhcraft Posted August 6, 2021 SRC Member Share Posted August 6, 2021 Does your tank have a sump? A skimmer or refugium will help a lot with nutrients export. Filter socks won't help unless you change / clean them daily and i don't think anyone so free to do so By the time you do your weekly change, those waste would have converted to ammonia.
