Which SPS to start with ?

Hi all,

I am planning for mix reef but not sure if my tank is SPS ready.

Any advise on which SPS should I start with ?

Saw Bird nest at the LFS, is this a good species to start with ?

I have been keeping LPS for 2 years, so can consider my tank quite matured.

I have added Tunze to increase circulation in the tank and Koralin CR a few days ago.

Manage to maintain the following reading:

PH: 8.1

CA: 460

KH: 11.8

In the past I cant reach such KH.

All the Pro out there, need your advise on the species.

Sugi, you might wanan try out with a frag of staghorn. generally its one of the least demanding SPS... i think! me not pro, not semi-pro , not even amatuer... just a newbie only but the masters told me that staghorn is the best bet...

hi sugi, IMHO, u can start with staghorn as what alfaromeo has suggested. they r one of the fastest growers in the sps family. maybe u can try montipora cap and monti-digitata as well........ these r also fair maintenance species. but me no expert though....... hope some gurus can help u along the way. happy sps reefing.

get an aquaculture staghorn which has been in another reefer's tank for quite some time already. chances of not RTN/STN higher

yeap, reef2 said it right. aquacultured staghorn frags will be a good choice.
