Substrate Cleaner??

Does anyone know of any substrate cleaners?? I heard that brittle stars are good but hard to find and also dunno if they will get eaten up by my fishes... Really brittle manzz....

Sea cucumber good or not?? And where to get?

Hi Piero,

Came across afew black sea cucumbers at ReefWxxxx on Wed. There should be alot more but better call n ask before going there. Much much cheaper where I got conned at ML, only $3/ compared to $10!!!

Brittle stars IMO arent that effecient in cleaning substrates cos they dont stir the sand as much. Hide among rocks most of the time n they are nocturnal.

You can try sand star, they are much more effective.

if you are keeping a DSB it's not advisable to use sand stars, as they eat the precious fauna on your sandbed. Cucumbers are good, small hermits as well.
