if u wanna increase calcium... kalk might not be the 1st choice. adding calcium (calcium chloride) would be better. However, it will reduce the KH level.... If you insist to use kalk, try to use the vinegar method.... as for the ratio to mix, cant really remember. try to search the past posting by other members here.

Actually using CaCl2 has its draw back too. Adding CaCl2 will not decrease KH, only if you overdose it. If you decide to use it, use in conjuction with carbonate supplement and use propotionately to maintain the balance.

As the Azoo product did not mention what it contain actually, I assume it is some sort of 1 of the 2 part supplement. I did not buy it because I don't know what is in there.

Calcium chloride will work in increasing your Ca levels. You can use kalkwasser to maintain the Ca levels after that. However, you must match the kalk dosage according to your Ca consumption for the Ca level to be maintained in the long run. It's best to invest in a calcium reactor. Will save you lots in the long run. Long term use of kalkwasser will also lead to magnesium deficiency.

Always something more important than fish.
