Need some help here

I'm wondering why I can't seem to keep my kH high?

CR effluent gives me more than what the test kit can measure and the level would still drop by 2-3 dKH

Any ideas?

What KH are you aiming for?

Could be cause by Calcium deposit on hot surfaces.

If you aim for closer to NSW levels (6.5 to 7.5) then should be no issues.

In this case could be due to your CR not supplying enough to supplement your tank consumption.

In-sufficient information so I can only guess what you trying to say.

Seawater has the kH to Ca in the ratio of 1:20 so kH always seems to drop while Ca stay relatively constant giving you a false impression that the kH is dropping whole Ca remains stable when in fact both are dropping just that the Ca will take a longer time to show a drop.

Before you do anything pls check your kH and Ca values then recheck it 24hrs later. But if what I said is true pending then what I would do is to retune the CR higher.

Your sand bed got cynao ah? or coralline...

Eh can take some close up on the zoos in the centre of the rock work

Got some hair like brown algae which bloomed after the sandbed removal

But most of the sand are covered in coralline

Most of my sand are like this

And the zoos are baby blue with pink mouths and brown skirts (sounds like some alien)
