u're using as what? Return or closed loop?? im running it on my skimmer now.. i would say not too bad for a 50W pump but definitely losing much more power over height as compared to brands like eheim...

I stated above that i will be using it for my Beckett

The headloss is just 2ft so I guess its better than my MD40 is terms of power consumption and performance?

If you are using it for a 24" height beckett, then it should be no problem. The headloss is very minimum, still can produce tons of bubbles. I'm using the 20HF on my 24" beckett now...........very good!

Love your tank too bro Vincent

Would want to see it personally someday... B)

Anyway, is the Rio 20HF air cooled or water cooled? Would not want to heat up my water <_<

20HF is submissible pump, water cooled.........will contribute slight heat.......but if you got a chiller, it won't eat up too much additional electricity......dont worry.

Its a submersible pump? Can it be used externally?

Would not want anymore heat as my chiller working longer hours due to the heat from my MH.

Seems like I got to reconsider

Dont think it can be use externally................but seriously it doesn't contribute much heat. I dont see any different in my chiller run time. But if there're any better options out there, why not?

I am glad to say that my SPS are already begining their growth spurt.

I got a green staghorn that grows about a quarter of a centimetre each day and had begun to develop really blue tips.

My 2 tenuis are also growing with the tri colour experiencing a darkening of the blues and greens :D

The monti digitatas are somewhat slowing down in their growth and I sort of noticed the tips of the purple specimen beginning to turn pinkish :yeah:

The orange monti cap is growing really fast now and it seemed to grow downwards, probably because of the current. The purple cap has darkened in colour but not yet growing though.

The green polyped monti had also grown and I am still expecting it to turn purple based or teal tips.

The yellow acro colony has also shown quite a dramatic change in colour as the body has become a neon blue with dark navy blue tips!!!!:shock:

Finally, the humilis had kind of burned by the sudden strong lighting that the once pink tips have developed patches of white. I hope it will recover and acclimatise soon ;)

Ah yes, I am also keen to try another type of propagation which involves fusing 2 SPS frags of the same colony together. If that is successful, I would try with different colour morphs as well B)

Ok let's make this the 1001th post

Purple mille is growing already but it sort of looks brown because of all the polyps

Now considering dosing amino acids but does it really help at all?
