blueheaven
Just can't wait to fire it up Ask you guys a question, can I plumb the outlet using PVC pipes and make an inverted U shape? Cause i noticed that the height of my sump is higher than the main reaction chamber, its even higher than the skimmer itself!!! Quote But if you tame me, we shall need each other. SRC Member scarab Posted August 2, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted August 2, 2004 Suggest you raise it until your base is higher than the top of your sump. What pump you running? When I did mine with inverted U, with the base sitting on the ground, my MD55 is too strong and it overflow from the collection cup. So since I'm raising, I raised it above my sump top, just to be safe. But I've seen some sitting on the ground. Well it didn't work for me. Just make sure your sump can take the water flowing out of the skimmer in the event of a power trip

Cause i noticed that the height of my sump is higher than the main reaction chamber, its even higher than the skimmer itself!!! The height of your U-pipe (which is at the top of your sump) cannot be higher than the 'desired' water-level of the main chamber. Else, the water level in the main chamber will be maintain at the height of the U-pipe. you can test it by open the outlet valve at maximum, and off the air-inlet....and see how the water flow. hope u understand what I meant...else sure flood! terryansimon
Yeah think so. But after seeing it foam, you will think its worth it after reading comments on RC, you'll realize that Beckett may be a little bit too brutal in terms of electricity consumption and you may consider getting a Turboflotor *the largest one lah.*
