So....from my little experiment -

1) 2 Skimmers of the same brand but different model will still skim a tank.

2) 2 Skimmers will result certainly in higher throughput yielding and

maintaining cleaner water for a longer time.

3) 2 Skimmers of needlewheel although 1 is recirculating model and the other

is not will produce almost the same quants of skimmate (the skimmate level

in cup of the younger brother is higher than that of the bigger cup, but when

poured out, it measures almost the same quants).

4) German needlewheel skimmers performance are consistant and design

balanced.

5) I am happy with 2 H&S Skimmers and my Fishes too...

I have since sold my Schuran and now thinking another combination.

Was feeding some corals some hours back with a prawn and guess what?

1-2hrs later the gunk pulled out by the skimmers was so smelly (remember the rotting prawn in your cycling tank?) that i immediately clear the collection cup again

Now the sump is not as smelly as awhile ago - thats the advantage of higher efficiency and power of the throughput in using 2 H&S skimmers
