Why is the snail giving out smoke?

I did cleaning of tank and water change. Noticed that my snail gave out smoke for about 10 minutes. Is it spawning? This has never happened before and the snail has been in the tank for more than 8 months. Also, some of the fishes go near the smoke. Is it toxic?

I have seen that in my snails also.... but so far no harm done ... maybe it is just farting No cause for alarm.

not sure why the snail gave out such tremendous amount of stuff lasted for 10 mins. I just checked on it and it is still alive.
