h&S skimmer

hi guys, recently my h&S skimmer stop foaming..

the neck is very black and dirty..but it just cant push the bubbles into the cup.. i have washed the whole skimmer and the pump but its still the same.. anyone know whats wrong?

IMHO, u can oso try checking ur salinity and Kh, somehow or rather, they play a part in the skimming too. or is there nothing to skim? or did u notice this problem after feeding?

alright will test for the salinity and kh later... feeding.. its the same.. no change from before,only feed more than before..so i assume there should have more skimmate.. instead there is no skimate!? <_<

Normall the skimmer will stop skimming after the following senerio:

(1) put our itchy hand into the tank: our skim has oil tt affect the skimmer

(2) Feeding: contains oil, fats, etc

(3) additives: will either stop skimming or cause MASSIVE amt of skimming :blink:

No worries, skimming should return to normal ranging froma few hrs to a day or 2
