Foam backdrop for marine tank

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I just want to check with fellow reefers has anyone used those foam backdrops (used in freshwater planted tanks) for their marine applications?

Was just wondering if this could be a viable solution against sticking on the usual black backdrop to enhance the visual appeal.

Thanks!

Coralline algae will grow happily on the foam backdrop. I suppose it might look quite natural but will be difficult or impossible to scrape off.

I have used those before...and some of my itchy mouth fishes went to bite the backing ......

no visible harm to the tank and its inhibitants...but might get floating debris sometimes...

:thanks: for all the help~!

Initially had some frens whom strongly discouraged me against using it cos they were saying saltwater's corrosive and all... yada yada... :pinch:

Oh well, will wait till my next tank upgrade then as my current tank's already up and running for 2 months already! :)
