Red Gonioporas - colouration!

Hey fellow reefers! I recently acquired a Red Goniopora a month ago; one of my favourite corals in my tank at the moment. However I noticed that the colour was drastically different from when I purchased it, going from a deep red in the first week to a light pink at the moment. Would like to know if this is normal/ what can I do to deepen the reds of the Gonio?

KH - 7.4-7.6 dKH
Ca - 410 ppm
Mg - 1280 ppm
NO3 - 5 ppm
PO4 - 0.01 ppm

SG - 1.025
25.5 - 27deg

It bleach. try feed with AB+

There could be various reasons. But one likely one is that it is bleaching due to excessive light. Gonio generally prefer low light conditions. From the picture, it seems to be placed at a location that's bright enough for SPS/Monti. Perhaps its too bright.

 

Would suggest to bring it to a more shaded spot.

Looking at your Gonio, I think it is growing well. I have one that placed at sand bed of my 2.5 ft deep tank and is growing and colour up very well. Therefore, I believe your case is bleaching so maybe you can try moving it away from strong light.
Once you done that, give it sometime to stabilise and try not to move it too often. Happy reefing....

Hows the update?? 

Notice no one share about salt, so i thought i will share too. Certain salt like AF can create a pastel color in corals. I thought this was more obvious in SPS until someone's LPS colored up when shift from AF salt to other salt. 

 

Just a thought. Echoing the light and feeding as mentioned above.

It can be multiple reason, it can be trace, low po4, and food choice. I recently have a purple gonio turn super pale and it has since turns darker.. No change to lighting at all.

any idea why gonio will become darker?

From my experience due to nutrient po4, no3 and the food u feed. So mainly diet I would think.
