hi all, bought a piece of monti recently..parts of it started turning white. initialy thought tat my tank was not ready for sps, but upon closer look, discovered white hairy nudis on it. read somewhere tat this nudi actually feeds on monti, so question is will the monti recover n is there anything we can do about it?? other than try to remove them manually or is it RIP :cry2:

any experts pls advice :thanks:

Remove the monti and crush/mince those nasty nudis with a small screw driver. Rinse the monti in a container with water from your tank before reintroducing the monti into your tank.

Place the monti near the front of the tank where all sides are visible. Monitor closely over the next 6 to 8 weeks.

Where did you get the monti from?

boss got these before too...i think he did a fresh water dip for a minute or so, or he didn't?? not too sure...do a search on "nudi" in disease foum, should be able to find a few links...

have to remove them manually, i dun think there's any other cure...

I did it once...the next day the monti bleached and rtn-ed after that...

best manually remove and check ever few days for a few weeks

got it from t9# some time back...looks like i have to carry on with my nudi hunting :evil:

will continue to monitor the monti..hope it can pull thru........
