I have a 5x2x2ft tank and going to sps, which brand recomandation would u guys advise?

I have not bother too much about my Ca level eversince Joe fixed up the Ca Reactor for me for quite a while.

I am maintaining about 450 -500 level eversince I got it setup...

Actually...the size of Ca Reactor depends on how much SPS and clams you intend to keep...some guys have mixed reef with some sps...consumption will be lower.

U are right , i am right now considering a mix but u will never know in future, thats why i need a cal reactor that will sustain that amount of a full sps system, in near future?? u will never know. maybe reef maniacs could built one for me if the price are right.

Yup the bigger version of reef maniac calcium reactor could be the ideal choice for your tank..... Its is valued for its price and many of us have used it and all we could say is WOW, wonderful workmanship and efficient reactor

Is deltec better or Koralin better?

I thought of buying one too, now quite undecisive between the two.

I also heard that Koralin guarantee that no CO2 will leak into the water. And heard that deltec calcium is extremely effiecient.

from what i read and understand from Max,. Deltec seems to be better bcoz of its fluidised design, very much like the rowa/contro phos reactor concept. hence the media is floating and surface area reacted with co2 is much more than any other convention calcium reactor like the Korallin/Reef Maniacs/MRC. call Max to understand more or read Max's comment in RC

deltec calcium reactor comes with solenoid valve which cost around S$200+. to compare a diy-ed and a commercial brand must have substantial difference in price. hope the new pricing of reef maniacs which is yet to be announced is good

Some parts in the Deltecs can only be made by vaccum forming/plastic injection. and their uses is very well thought out. To copy the design will take heavy initial investments. Look at the inverted cone at the bottom of the reactor body and spend some time and think over the funtion and the reason for it to be there and you know what I mean. See picture.

The smallest Deltec, if you are looking for one is the PF500. rated for 900 liters. Guess for a 2' tank, better and economical to buy 2 part additives because there is limited amount of space to put your LS anyway and stocking level will be low. However, there are other brands like korallin or reef manics with smaller capacity.

Is there any Calcium Reactor that are small enough for 2ft and below ?

Actually in my opinion due to the small amount of water volume in a 2ft, it is extremely important to not overdose on CO2 from a calcium reactor. Hence going for a small calcium reactor although is more than enough for adding calcium but the risk of Ph drop is too great for the tank to handle.

Instead, a bigger reactor (holding at least 3Kg of media) is needed but a really low bubble count should be used instead. Something like 1 bubble per 15 to 20 seconds would be more than enough.

I agree with weisoon about Deltec products. Even their venturi is moulded and cannot be machined due to a special part in their design.
