SRC Member Plenum Posted June 22, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted June 22, 2004 Hi Anyone out there has any methods to glue or epoxy corals to rocks? I'm trying out this "Marine Goo" silicon but it just hardens in water. Any brands of adhesives to recommend? Thanks!

SRC Member Guinness Posted June 22, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted June 22, 2004 Lead content in most epoxy if high and will eventually leech. Not to mention a range of others unpleasant stuff. Silicon glue is a much better and safer bet, once cured.

SRC Member Guinness Posted June 22, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted June 22, 2004 Silicon glue?? nah.... sealant. Same stuff that they use to hold ya tank together!
SRC Member scarab Posted June 23, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted June 23, 2004 Deltec epoxy is cool. They are purple in colour much like coralline algae A bit ex but the colour not as stark as the whitish epoxies when placed in the tank. And if you don't have enough coralline algae, this is a good temporary substitute........ ..... afraid not.
SRC Member Plenum Posted June 23, 2004 Author SRC Member Share Posted June 23, 2004 QUOTE (Achilles Tang @ Jun 22 2004, 10:20 PM) Silicon glue?? nah.... sealant. Same stuff that they use to hold ya tank together! Thats wat I used... but brand is 'marine goo'. Not the gun-type though... comes in a tube. The sealant just harden and lost its adhesiveness... just kept sticking to my fingers, much like pee sai! Went to get the Wessbond epoxy, going to try later... hope it works.
