weird salinity measurement...

i measure my salinity on my tank it shows 1.020 , however when the hydrometer is in the sump it shows 1.028

anyone has this problem ?? anyway i'm still using a cheapskate hydrometer...

I do encounter slight different of salinity between tank(1.0225) and sump(1.0230) but yours reading is so much different??

Maybe it is due to insufficient return flow rate and salt is heavier so it tends to settle down in the sump??

my return should be good enough, its 1 X eheim 1262 (3400L/H) n 1 X Quietone (6000L/H)....

did u measure the water salinity after a major water change ?? maybe it is not stable as yet ...

i think a refractormeter is around 60-80 dollars
