Amount of LR fr 3ft tank

Just a question in my mind before i really consider to upgrade my 2ft tank. How much LR will i need for a 3ft tank? a 3x2x2 tank. Any suggestions? Thanks

maybe a rough guide for u.... for my 5ft X 2Ft X 3ft... i am using 200kgs worth of rocks....

So i need about 50 - 100 kg of LRs? But will that be too much LR that the fish don't really have that much palce to roam about?

It will depend on what kind of scaping you perfer...

Think you can just look around in the member's forum, there are nice scapings there to take reference from... ultimately, i prefer to leave it up to my own imagination and visualize my own scaping pattern... valleys and 2-3 tier patterns are the nicest IMO

You can save a heck of a lot of money if you set up PVC racks... my 55gal only uses something like 10-15kgs of LR....

But the racks have to be planned well, I didn't plan mine very well lah... forgot to take into account the size of the rocks... but heck lah saved me a crap load of money buying rocks....

Also good because you can ensure less dead spots in your tank... my fishes love swimming into the void created by the racks....

oh yah, that will save a lot of money. Thanks. But i thought it's good to have lots of LRs, it acts as a 'bio filter'?
