help needed for identification...

Yup have it too.... just one only, but it started to grow about 1 month back and very fast too. Then there's the other one a bit stiffer, and it resembles a monti. None of the snails and fishes like it, although the clown tried to tear off a piece to feed his BTA. I don't think they last very long in the tank as they look fragile.

same rock, but the algae has grown to this size now... it looks very overgrown... wondering if anyone has prior experience on what to do for this type of algae...

I'm thinking of trimming/croping it. The left one has a sheet-and-plastic-like feel, coated with slime and quite thick... The right one is much softer, flows with the water and still looks rather harmless.... The fishes stay away from it... only good thing, I think is that it takes nitrates away as I've never had such low measures of reading... ever, all other being equal.
