lightings to recommend pls

My tank is 3 ft (ht) x 3ft (length) and 66cm witdh with a 15 mm thick glass.

its a gift from someone.

what is the lightings suitable for this setup. for keeping SPS?

pricing?

I visited one of the marine shop and the shop owner recommend me a $1000/- lights for this setup.

this way to much...

any recommendations ;)

well. SPS. you should be considering Metal Halides as the minimum lighting requirement, since your tank is 3ft in height *gee thats a bloody tall tank!* at least 250w...and those babies do cost a bit. unless you get some one to DIY a set for you. (=

unless you want to put the SPS on the upper layers of rockwork, then you can get away with T5s...

by the way. SPS require much more things than lights. pristine water conditions, zero nitrates *although some reefers keep SPSes with nitrate levels*, and good water flow.

I'm no SPS expert, so please don't ask me on the parameters required. (=

brother. how much is the cost of these lightings? MH 250w cost how much..

and how much is the monthly PUB bill for these item going to get?

I personally have no idea on how much the cost of 250Ws MH will cost.

as for electricity increase, use the simple equation of VI=T, where V = Volt, I = Amp and T = time in hours. if the ampere rating is not given, use VI = P, where P is the power in Watts.

once you use VI = T, you'll see a number. use this number and multiply it against the tariff rate. if you don't know the tariff rate, check your electricity bills/search this forum/go to PUB website. (=
