SRC Member clammy Posted June 24, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted June 24, 2004 very nice pictures.. Did you take the fish potraits with very high shutter speed? Love the dark background. Can tell us what settings you used for the schooling green chromis? Looking forward to seeing more of ur pics!!
Achilles Tang
Excellent, truly excellent. You shot high-res and then cropped accordingly? You really have a good eye for composition. And I can see the difference a strobe makes... Time for me to start saving up for one!

I use shutter between 100 to 200 depending on the focal length. 100 for wider angle and 200 ( the max flash sync speed for my camera) For flash wise is straight forward as its an auto strobe from sea and sea using a diffuser this time set the flash to 6.7 and camera to 5.6 ! And yes some of the pics are crop when I can't get the absolute position I want while taking like object too far.... Yeah, a strobe with long arms really give lots more room for control. SRC Member huanjie Posted June 24, 2004 Author SRC Member Share Posted June 24, 2004 Can tell us what settings you used for the schooling green chromis? Luck ..., difficult capture a nice one as the chromis is so reflective on the surface so I just shoot a few more on the spot and keep my finger cross

SRC Member clammy Posted June 25, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted June 25, 2004 thanks HuanJie! Must try it out this weekend at Dayang. Actually, the photos from the two trips seem to highlight the difference a diffusser made? or are there any thing else you tweaked between the trips? Hapi Diving! Hi Clammy, Sorry for the late reply, I was away travelling.... Yeah, the only thing I changed between the two trips are the diffuser and a little more experience with the equipment and try to get as close to the subject before taking.... How is your Dayang trip ?
