Bad experience at Bio Ocean

Hi

I as at Bio Ocean Aquarix for the 2nd time and I have another bad eperience with the place.

First trip wanted to purchase a copperband. As I am new to this hobby, I paid $12 for it. i was told it was a good price....imagine how upset I was to find Aquastar selling at $6 or 6 for $38.

Today gave them another chance...but he wanted to charge me $5 for a blue devil. This is dispite telling me all blue deveil is at $2 before I choose the fish.

He also told me that wrasse is at $3, but after packing demaned $6 for it.

I like shop that is honest and reliable, and give good advise. Some shop is more costly than others, but give excellent advise.

Some shops are like the fly by night type, wuote u a price for the fish, then demand more after packing it. I may be new to the hobby but I don't like to be treated like a fool.

I will boycott this shop from now on.

I still prefer Reborn and the one at Hong Leong Garden, really honest and give good advise.

So far, I don't have any problems at Bio-Ocean and I find its pricing reasonable to me.

Have you even seen how Axxx Sxxx handle their fishes when they arrive. Go take a look you'll be shocked

Yes, i actually posted this b4 in a topic that ask people to recommend good LFS.

My intention is the same, to ask people to name the LFS shop which they like and share about the bad experience they have wit the LFS that they want to boycott, or still buying from.

So someone mention about Axxx Sxxx mishandling fishes. Maybe he wants to share more.

Let's have an open discussion. No shop is perfect. Just shops which you perfer to buy from or not to buy from.

I still purchase equipment and food from Aqua star / Reborn, as some of the prices are good. I still purchase lifestocks from my neighbourhood shop (good advise and servise, but a bit pricey, however blue devil never at $5) and Wakai. I will be going CF and LCK 110 later as it is highly recommeded by Bro here.

Price of Quarantined and non-Quarantine fishes are not the same. No comment on which LFS is better, but i usually go to CF, LCK 110, ML, SL and occasionally Axxx Sxxx (buy fishes, if it is still in it's package.)

i have no problem with bio ocean leh....in fact, i am very please with their service...

there was once i bought a small frogspawn (2 head) for $10...one of the head died in about 3-4 days time...when inforomed, they told me to discard away the frogspawn and return to bio ocean to pick another piece....

i went back and couldn't find a suitable LS, and they allowed me $10 discount when i want to buy anything from them next time....i still carry the $10 discount as i have not bought anything, now it is already a month ago since it happened....

Hey, i have no bad experience with this shop at all..I mean AT ALL...this is also one of the most reliable and trust friendly shop i have been besides marine-life(hong-leong).. Justin is good and he advices me everytime i have doubts.. He changed the price after packing???? Did u heard the wrong price at the first place??? Boy cott?? My experience is i had no bad experience with them at all..and they are friendly IMO...suggest you do as what Tigger has said..

aang1971. Hate to disagree...its really a pity that it happened to you. Do pmed Justin and talk to him about the issue.

I am quite regular there, prices are quite good and they give discounts voluntarily for some the items. Very friendly ...but totally agree with you....no shop is perfect.

Recently I bought a bucket of coralife salt and found no T-shirt inside...though I didnt complain but briefly mentioned it jokingly in one of the tank threads.....the next day...I got a pm of apologies - a full explanation was given. Asked me to go pick it up when I am passingby...

I thought that was pretty alright on their part.

Hope your reefing experience wont be affected by these incidents.. may want to talk to them and give them another chance

A*****ar LS maybe cheap....but I never buy anything except equipment from them....think most reefers are horrified by the conditions of the fishes there...so is the blue one along lavendar area

That is what I thought too, nice guys...that is why I gave them a second chance.

My wife was with me, she was digusted by them too. And she is so tolerant...she even can tolerate the ah pek at seletar L95 dispite his attitude.

The point is after you quoted a price, you should honour it. It is not as if I am purchasing a AT or Purple Tang for $3.

For me, I am just not going back. I will continue to buy my equipment from Aqua Star and my Lifestocks from the LFS in Chong Pang market, LCK110, CF and Hong Leong Garden. Once a while reborn, but I don't like the lifestocks there as well.

Let's just put an end to this thread. If there's a bad experience, just reflect it to the person in charge, let's just give them the benefit of the doubt here and maybe you can settle it in person with them. This kind of bad publicity doesn't benefit anyone rite? not siding with them, but IMO, they are really great guys, always entertain my calls when i call regarding their stock, their pricing and LS are also attractive too... so thumbs up for them..

My advise to you, don't 'bash' any LFS openly, you have problem with them discuss with them. Most misunderstanding took place when both parties don't talk.

what?u cant even tolerate the t95 ah pek?he is one of the more friendly farm owner i've seen.if u cant even stand him then i dont think u should buy any livestock from the lfs or farms.perhaps u can buy them online? jokes aside,i think u should seriously consider dropping by bio ocean once more and clear up the misunderstanding...and your total posts of less than 10 makes me smell a fish

YES this MR have came to our shop on saturday.n justin is bz with a setup.so he told him BD at $3 sgt DF at $1 and red wrasses at $3.n after that justin went to customer place for the setup.so i think MR spend 30min to catch 1 BD, 2 sgt and 1 RW.

after the 30min(i think)i pack the fishes and told him total $13.

BD $5

sgt DF $1x2 $2

RW $6

MR told me justin told him the price as above.i told him justin quote wrong price.n im selling at this price.so yhe end MR took BD at $2 n sgt at $1x2.total $4.
