Venturi Vs Needle Wheel....

Hi... Considering getting a better skimmer for my tank... My Tank is 3ft tank w/ 1ft sump... Water Volume is 67 Gallons/ 250 Litres...

Got two choices now... Need some opinion and advise... Which one will be more reliable and able to skim better...

1. Schuran Jetskim 100(Venturi)

DETAILS:

Skimmer Capacity: 500L

Pump Capacity: 1200L/H

Dimensions:

- diameter 100mm,

- standfloor: 155 x120mm,

- height 550mm

2. MACRO NEEDLE WHEEL AS-150P(Needle Wheel)

DETAILS:

Skimmer Capacity: 600L

Pump Capacity: 1200L/H

Dimensions:

-diameter 100mm

-height 470mm

I would go for needlewheel... IME, bubble size smaller... performs better as well...

imo, which one your wallet can afford, which one your sump can afford *footprint size is very important* and which one is easy to dis-assemble to clean. no point getting the biggest and best skimmer which takes a crew of mechanics just to remove the upper assembly for washing. (=

PS: I think you get better resale value with the Schruan? I think lah. don't quote me on this. (=

The price is ard the same... So very difficult to make a decision... But the Schuran is second hand and the Macro is new one...

Have seen the Schuran's venturi bubbles size (Joshua's place).............you will be amaze how small & fine they are.........the H&S needlewheel bubbles(Sealife) is slight bigger then the Schuran IMO.

Needle Wheel still bigger huh... Hmmm... Maybe i will get the Schuran and if not enuff den I add a DIY Needle Wheel Weipro Skimmer... Good Idea??? What do you all think...
