From my experience, some signs to see if acro is doing well or at least settling down:

1. By the extension of their polyps.

2. Keep a look out for receding tissue( u'll see some white parts exposed)

3. After lights off at night, check for good long extension of polyps at the tip. But the length of extension will differ species to species.

3. Colour-wise, I don't think it should be turning brown within 2-3 days of purchase unless it was already brown.

Will the SPS gurus pls add on to this or correct me...I'm sure u guys have much more to offer

Not sure if this is true, but generally I find acros healthy if they produce a layer of mucus when they are taken out of water and they shed this mucus when being put back in water. Weak specimens don't tend to give off alot of mucus.

Always something more important than fish.
