Complete with 6 bright blue LEDs with current protection and AC Power Adaptor.

The moonlight is about 2 feet long but it is suitable for 2 feet to 4 feet tank. It simulate moonlight so you can observe night activites during the night.

There are also reports that claim that moonlight triggers spawning activities for certain corals.

For this unit, there are 6 LEDs, all blue. I do not have the exact colour wavelength but I have noticed that corals response to the light by opening, even in the night.

The current unit has been taken. There are some who are interested and so I am making new ones with 8 LEDs, same with current protection and power adaptor.

Sorry for late reply, terryansimon, been busy these days....

To answer your question, the casing is water proof but the 2 ends, meaning you have to watch out for splashes.

If you seal the 2 ends with aquarium sealant, then it is water-proof.

That depends on what kind of customisation.

Things like number of LEDs, types of mount, etc. should be no problem.

For 3 feeters, I am customising a special moonbar with the following features:

(1) Slim profile not more than 2.5 cm x 2.5 cm

(2) New Design

(3) Made out of 3 segment of 1 feet constructs, linking together by wires.

Each 1 feet segment has 4 LEDs, making total of 12 LEDs for whole unit.

(4) Same current protection and power adaptor included.

(5) Ends will be sealed for watertightness.

Just a comment on the moonlight

Running the unit above and its a pretty good kit. However, I find the LEDs a bit bright and I masked over some with tape to dim it a bit. The end result is a diluted bluish/ greyish haze- wonderfully moon lightish. My cleaner shrimps scavenge about, and I can actually can see them after main lights out.

Liverock you might want to consider this option to limit the LEDs. But of course, its purely personal. Some reefers might prefer a brigher moon light anyways.

Best if u put it on a dimmer? so can adjust the light intensity?
