Problems with my lightings

I dont really like to on my fan 24/7, i on it for about 12 hours a day. from 12am-6am and 12pm to 6pm. if not i think all my water will have been evaporated when i come home. I know that MH is hot. and that it's best to have a chiller. But i don't think i want to get a chiller. budget you see. so. MH plus fan(12hours/day) Can? If i just wanna get a 150W MH maybe 10000K. Should i get some PL lights that to come 'partner' it? or just the MH lights will do?

ya boy....MH plus fan with make lots of water evaporate. remember when i 1st started : no fan, no MH & no chiller, the evaporation is already noticable in 2days as u can see the watermark on top of the current level.

Most reefers on their MH for about 6hrs per day, so u need to supplement it with other lights. I using T5 from 9am to 10pm while my MH comes on from 12-6pm. In this way it will also stimulate normal sun rise & dawn with afternoon the brighest.....think i'll try DIY moonlight later..........

ya, i notice the water dropping pretty drastically if i dont top up the water everyday. evaporation rate is pretty high. If i on if for 24/7, i think just give it 3 days and all the water will be gone man.

you mean 6 hrs of lights/ day is just not enough? okie. so that's where the T5 or PL lights comes into place. ok. Thanks. Me not thinking about moonlight. Needa get the foundation right first.

i run a 400 watt metal halide for my 3 feet tank...... using fan..... tempreture no problem.....max without air con 27'c..... with air con and fan 25'c ... so u do the math...... as for the water top up problem.... get a T.U.B.B.Y from one of our sponsers ... cookiemunster.... get one and never regretted.. its a worth investment,.......

oh, it that so? maybe i really should consider getting the MH lights from Oct Bay.

For the T.U.B.B.Y system, do you need a sump? Cause i don't have a sump. mine is only a small 2 ft tank.
