Just bought a couple of these cute fellas from L35D yesterday. Can someone id this fish please. Was told it is a filefish.

Those are Harlequin Filefishes Oxymonacanthus longirostris

Oh dear, you just bought one of the hardest to keep fishes in the world. Or rather, one of the most expensive fish to feed!!!

I guess it will live for a short while on your Acropora coral till you buy more SPS to feed it as it is an SPS obligate.

You have to do more more research next time before you buy a fish.

Mine is only a FOWLR tank. It seems to be eating on cyclopeeze so far. Keeping fingers crossed.

its a longnose filefish. the coolest fish for photography.

from the book it said coaxed into eating live brine shrimp but is not the main food source.

page 407 on Marine fishes 500+ essential-to-know aquarium species.

Indeed is a very diffcult fish to keep. How come the LS seller did not warn you?
