info on black sea cuke diet needed

hey bros..my tank`s sand is full of algae...i`ve introduced snails and they manage to clear up some spots of the sand but i noticed gt leftover dirt and food particle and fish droppings...if i were to introduce a black sea cuke..will they help in cleaning up the algae at the same time? or must i remove all the algae first before the cuke will start working?...thanx bros

Basically, the sea cuke will help turn over the surface of the sandbed to eat up the bacteria on the detritus & the sand grains.

They won't eat cyanobacteria aka slime algae and will in fact avoid going close to them. There shouldn't be any form of algae growing on the sandgrains.
