Achilles Tang
Nori cut into bite-size pieces before feeding will ensure that picky surgeonfish (tangs) will not spit them out, the nori pieces won't get hooked onto corals or LR and be floating around, and best of all.. small fishes like firefishes will gobble them up too! SRC Member patrick123 Posted June 6, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted June 6, 2004 Always glue your pvc pipe/joint. Trying to save a few dollars by not wanting to glue the joint is just waiting for disaster to happen. In the best case you just need to mob the floor, in the worse case scenario you will lose all your tank water and the LS too.

terryansimon
keep a notebook with details on your water parameters. this is to enable you to keep track of any adverse fluctuations in your water parameters. it is also easier for you to hand over the tank to a care taker when you go overseas, so the care taker will be able to take note of weird fluctuations. SRC Member tigershark Posted June 10, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted June 10, 2004 keep a notebook with details on your water parameters. this is to enable you to keep track of any adverse fluctuations in your water parameters. it is also easier for you to hand over the tank to a care taker when you go overseas, so the care taker will be able to take note of weird fluctuations. thats what i did but Im slightly more advance created an excel form to track everything done for the tank incl: testing of PH, NO3 , No2, temp, water change, feeding, washing/ changing of filter wool, addiding of Kalk, Calcium chloride, buffer, new LS, dead LS, changing of bulb, servicing of chiller.... and other misc things done to the tank.
