check out this website on sale of super nice sps

Recommended Posts

Actually its because of our typical singaporean thinking and not willing to fork out higher price that lead lots of ultra clams, sps, lps and softies not to arrive in singapore but other european countries such as US or UK

I don't think its Singaporean thinking but realistic. We know already that our local LFS can bring in excellent Fiji corals at reasonable prices. Why pay more?

In the US, salary levels are much higher than Singapore a junior pharmacist can command US$25 per hour wages, that's USD200 per day or $4400 a month excluding overtime. Now compare that with what a pharmacist in Singapore can earn and take note that cost of living in most of the US is cheaper than Singapore.

An engineer in the US easily clocks $40 or more per hour..... Singapore is no where near US payscale for the working man.

We can get ultra maximas at $60 or so right? Why we are bypassed is that the market is too small. A large shipment of several hundred colonies will take ages to clear by the LFS. It is not that we are cheapos! For coral farmers a hundred colonies to ship is peanuts and may not worth their trouble to schedule the transportation across the pacific

Totally agree with robe...Even the macdonalds in the US are paying($15/hr) much more than what some fresh grads can earn man. I feel it's unfair to just put the blame on the so called "typical Singaporean thinking" for the lack of ultra nice corals coming in due to their unwillingness to pay. Besides, I feel that our local lfs are already bringing in brilliant corals from time to time. Cheers to them!

Not forgetting that most of the reefers here are working adults with families and children. Asking them to fork out that much money for corals will be pretty hard. That's hard earned money man and of course, they have to be careful with their expenditure. No more hand coming out to ask for money from parents in any sorts. ;)

My 2 cents! :D
