cheapo plugs

my length of light is too short.

last nite went to buy a cheapo extension from NTUC, hesitate to buy it, but

then see the PUB sticker on it, so got it.

while adjusting the plug, it hit the wall n whole house short circuited. haha..!!

this time din get electrocuted..hehe. (kenna thrice while playing with fans n light)

but the cheapo plug after I unscrewed, inside all black n smoky..

morale of story dun save on the cheapo plugs.

b4 this incidence, I have already indicate I kenna a few times.

not due to plugs, but fans n lights. so I am extremely careful.

all my multiple sockets are better quality ones with surge protection.

but this time round I just need a extension. buying a $20-30 for a extension just cause the lights wire is not long seem too much. not like multiple socket where I need to on and off it, subject to wear and tear.

I was using a faulty plug the other day too... chiller was connected to the plug and when i put my hand into the water, kena electric shock... heng ah, not too serious... if not... anyway, gonna get my grounding probe soon...

could be the chiller or the grounding in your extension.....had the same problem with my chiller.....used an adaptor to plug the 3 pin socket from the chiller to a 2 pin socket in the extension.....after 1 night saw my fishes behaving funny....dip my hand into the water and kenna tiggling feeling.....

Took apart my other equipments and also notice some of the items espeically lights are not gounded!!! even though they are 3 pin sockets!!!

yea, meant one of the plug is not grounded.

so far, all mine is locally certified, looks "branded"..

except for last nite incidence.. total black out, n see a hint of flash..

not as bad the other time, my fan kenna into water, I still use, see flames..

Just like to share if need to get cheapo plugs. I'm using an extension plug bought from jln besar complex for $10. The 5 port type. Comes in individual fuse. Quite reliable IMO.

if u ever look at the cable... those cheapo cable uses little wiring... the best cable will be those that have 40 wiring in each cable.. those r the gd one...

even your plug may run well now.. but in the long term it will heat up and melt due to the cable not able to take the heat..
