Help, My Star Poly not fully open!

Hi All,

Please advice as my 3 months Star Poly not fully open for quite a while. Initially it open fully for a about a month after that only 10% of it open!

I have check my water condition is ok & PH level is 8. I also feed coral food constantly lei! Please advice, thaks!

is ur lighting strong enuff?

IMO, i wld recommend PL n above to have it open well.. FLs r too dim...

or issit due to it being covered by nuisance algae? e.g cyano

check if there are parasitic nudibranchs around it.

Hi I am using 1 x Fl 25w & a PL 55w for my 2ft tank is it enuf?

whats thr height of ur tank ?????? if lesser than 1 feet.... IMO its enough...'

My tank height is 1.5ft

I supplement my tank with actinic blue.

I find that they open under it better.

Any ugly green hairy algae around it? Slime? Mine got swamped by GHA and didn't open for awhile until i got rid of those ugly things. Try shifting it to a place where flow rate is higher, they prefer higher water flowrates... and maybe shift it higher towards the lights. GSP are quite hardy, shouldn't die so easily...
