Hi

Can I have clams in my 4 ft tank that contains a saddleback toby? Also wat and how to feed the clams. I had about 4 clams in my previous tank but they all started dying after i introduced the toby. Dun know if he's eating them or the phytoplankton i provide is not enough. Pls advice. Thanks!

4 X 36W PL. Each bulb is blue & white. Is that sufficient for clams? Funny thing is the clams were doing ok for a couple of months.

what kind of clams????? :fear: the only clams u can keep under pls are derasas, squamosas, hippopus, and gigas whch are all hard to come by and ur tank MUST be shallow..... provided u can give them the proper environment like high cal/kh ang little salinity and ph swings.... little clams need feeding tooo

and a puffer is nt reef and invert(including clams!!!!) safe <_<

suggest u remove ur puffer unless u wan to give it an expensive snack :(

Guess the lighting was insufficient. Too late... my $5 saddle puffer ate the lot of about $200 worth of clams! I'll hold the clams first. Need to invest in better lighting and also make arrangements for the puffer. So if I get more intense lighting, the clams placed 2 ft deep ok?

what kind of clams are they? 2ft depth go for 250 to 400 if ur pockets aloow u too. then u dun have to worry abt lighting.... how's ur water parameters? ;)

Not sure. Thinks they're tridacnas. My water, about 3 months cycled, always got a slight ammonia detected, 0 nitrite, about 30ppm nitrate and 400 Calcium. Thinking of adding a 150W MH pendant in addition to the PLs.
