Only very small clams (< 3 inches) may require supplementary feeding of phytoplankton until they grow large enough to rely totally on light alone for energy.

Thanks for the clarification AT! just bought a 10" Squamosa from a reefer, was worried abt not able to cope with the amount of phytoplankton to feed that little giant........now I'm relieved.......:-)
