Algae & detritus removal

Anyone's got any advice on how to remove the film of algae between the sand bed and glass? Also what methods do you use to keep the sand bed clean?

i use a expired credit card to clean the film of algae btw the sandbed and the glass, as for the sandbed, i bought cerith snails and a black sea cuke to do the job. works alright for me.

I'm not sure wat snails I've got (about 4) but all they do is crawl around the glass and rocks. Read the thread on sand sifters. Will try them and also the cuke.

a cuke is a sea cucumber ..... black ugly little suckers .... when buying cukes get those that feed from the sand and not those filter feeders ....

best do a search and study in the internet before buying anything ...

I just got a goby yesterday... its all white in colour. This morning found that the two corners of my tank has been cleaned. Hope it cleans the rest of the sand bed by the time i go home today!
