Hi. I just started my tank abt a month ago... hw ###### observe that some alage are forming at the sandbed? Is it my P04 is too high? or it is normal. Wat shd I buy to overcome this problem? snails.. I have 2 bubble bee snails inside.. but so far onli see them once every few days.

In a way it is normal in tat most tanks go thru the same process but u have to do something about it n not let it run wild..u can get po4 asorbents, add in more cleaning crew like sea cucumber , sand shifting gobies, more snails etc.

u may also want to do some water changes,reduce feeding if u have fishes..meanwhile dun add anymore ls into your tank til the situation improve ..my 2 cents

Rowaphos. Works for me.

I got the ROWA inside my filter. should be enough. that y i am curious y there is still alage. though it is onli small brown patches.

I wan to clarify that alage is caused due to high PO4. if so, i will need to test my P04 b4 doing anything. anyone selling salifert p04 testkit??

Anyway, don't think Rowaphos can bring down PO4 to a level where no algae can be detected.

Cos bound to have some traces of PO4 that the diatom (brown algae) can trive on.

Rowaphos is used more as a means of control to keep the PO4 low.

Try changing water weekly, 10~20%.

Avoid over-feeding.

And if you experience another round of diatom bloom, replace the Rowaphos in your filter - cos this batch may have been exhausted.

Oh yes ... and don't on your lights for too long.

8hrs more than sufficient.
