How to do a DIY sump?

I am planning to do a DIY sump for my 3ft tank. Can anyone give me some ideas and concepts on how to create one? Which concept is the best? Thanks alot brothers and sisters of SRC!

i think navyblue idea is gd . i DIY my sump a few mths ago with acrylic and silicon but face problem when i want to shift the location of the compartments and change the height of each compartments.

Hmmm me neutral on all your ideas cos i seriously got no experiences in making a sump. Since i know navyblue personally, i think i get him to teach me how to make the sump and to guide me in person. I hope everything will work out fine.. but in the mean time, u ppl please continue to give me concepts and ideas. Cheers!!
