I have no idea how to modify that into what you want.

For me I prefer to use an ordinary empty tank and put containers in there as compartments. The advantage is it will be "modular", easily moved and removed, and the combination possibility is endless.

May be you can remove the middle partition if possible and get a container to store your sand for DSB.

I think it's best to eep that but put thick thick layer of filter wool before the bioballs to trap the lartge particles... the compartment use for the bioballs currently should be used for filter wool instead IMO... below the filter wool then put bioballs..

remove the balls after your system is "Matured"

that is LRs can easily convert NO2 n ammonia to NO3..

if not bioballs is a veri good device to do that, so good

that it convert to NO3 so fast, b4 NO3 can be converted

to nitrogen hence the term NO3 factory.

Will new water flow into your DSB compertment, I guess new water may just by pass your DSB compertment
