Hi,

Just wonder do the experience guys in this forum paste any blue paper behind the tank to enhance the look?

If yes, what do you guys normally use?

bought mine at a normal lfs in bedok area,

i prefer those that has one sided taped already, just need to peel,paste, and move bubbles....

another one is those that are just normal plastic sheets one....

anyway im not experianced.. haha

For marine aquarium, blue sheets are the most commonly used. Can hide those ugly wires/hose behind and give your tank a "sea" feeling. Unless you have special taste, blue seems the best. IMO, those with pictures of rocks or water plants are the worst. If use those, might as well save the trouble of setting up the tank...just paste the picture on the wall!

no sea feel, but personally think black background would enhance colours

I did mine using spray paint. Actually wanted black, but wife complain, say blue better, so in order to have my tank up without much objection, I go for blue.

Black is the way to go... gives the feeling of a vast spaciousness in the tank in addition to bringing contrast to the colours of your LS.

I agree.. Saw in a book.. Black background really brings out the color..

Bought the oyama paper from petprovsion.

I used those black foam rock background .. cost me $30+ for 3 piceces

does the thickness takes up space inside the tank? thought of using rock background next time if i set up a tiny 1.5feet tank in my office table. How do u attach it? Glue it? will it float up eventually?

it is abt 15mm thick and I use silicon to glue it

I also went for black. I am using black acrylic sheets siliconed inside my tank and these have cutouts for the overflow teeth and my centre closed loop bulkhead.

The back of my siliconed acrylic sheet also provides spaces for my pods and worms to hide and grow.

I believed if you do a search on pods and 'old men walking bent over'... you'll see what I mean.

Black does help enhance the colours.

My previous reef tank, I used a plastic sheet printed with a rocky background ie. those used for chilids tank to look like a rock wall... over time, due to UV... it faded and the effect was lost.
