JC

CULPRIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The blue colour pegs just hop off.. and spring away....the outlet of the canister tubing drop to the floor...from there, the water starts to flow away till it cant suck out anymore water from the tank...

bro, i understand your floor sticky problem...whenever i start dripping some tank water on the floor...just a few drips will make the whole floor sticky

what my maid normally does is to use white vinegar added to a pail of water to clear up the stickiness, not too sure if it's scientifically effective...but i do notice the floor does become less sticky...

u can try if u have white vinegar at home ...

actually it was my crazy idea to modify the ehiem canister....by putting a tray and the bag of Rowaphos....BUt its beacuse of the spring back of the peg.. :(

yeah..coz if you just mop with normal water or not good detergent...then the stickness or oilyness just spreads itself on the floor surface and not really removing it...

my gut feeling is that somehow the vinegar which is acetic acid, breaks down the stickiness or oilyness....

some floor detergents may be able to do the same though...not too sure...

anyway, hope it will not happen again to you...best wishes :)
