What is typical quarantine period

Hi all,

Caught a small 1-2" tassle/prickly filefish (Chaetodermis pencilligerus) yesterday along the seashore ard Bedok jetty. Anyone has any practical experience as to how long to quarantine the gfish for before introducing to the tank? Also 1 small clam of some sort.

no need to quarantine laaa .... caught from local shore very safe .. caught 1 before very hardyand daring will feed from your hands ..

if worry a couple of days quarantine will do .. see if it dies on u which i think will not happen ..

Thanks for the advise...not worried about hardiness...just worried that it may carry any disease...

if u think bout it ... fish from LFS or farms are also from the sea .

and i think they are prone to have more disease than the ones we catch locally .

personally i have caught many fish locally ranges from butterflys ,gobys , cardinals , puffers and file fish ... they have better survival rates than fish bought from LFS ... but one thing is those caught are mostly not reef safe .... good for fish only setup .have given away many lots of them.
