Live Rocks

Recommended Posts

Some questions to ponder.... If I have finished my cycling and added in my fishes and corals. is it safe if I put in additional live rocks? will it have an impact on my water parameters? Becoz of my small tank(less than 1ft), I concerned a lot on the water parameters.

hw to have cured rocks? Can i leave it in a container and with filter on and lights off for a few days b4 introducing it to my tank. if the live rocks is almost encrusted with coraline algae.. can it be considered a cured live rock.

will it be a good biological filteration if my liverocks are encrusted with a lot of coralline algae? have anyone use a product called coralline simulater? does it works?

You can buy cured LR from fellow reefers or shops. I find that buying uncured LR and cure it yourself is very troublesome and will stink up the whole room. Unless you put it outdoors. Done it once and vowed never to do it again.

I think coralline algae has nothing to do with filteration. But coralline algae is good as it doesnt allow unwanted algae to grow to it. Not to mention it looks nice and increases the value of the LR.
