I have bought this Harecan shrime some thing back which i later found out that it exactly eat the leg of star fishes !!! :o

Anyone can advice is it is advisable to continuing keepin?

It is already aroung 2 inch big , and got to feed him one big star fish per month.

Anyother Q's is that is it true that when starfish die, it wouldnt promote the water? This is what one of the staff from the marine shop told me..

My 2ft Tank

Tank specification ;

1) 8 mm glass with external overflow tank

2) 8 mm sump tank

3) Main return pump - AB 3000 ( 45 W )

4) Chiller main return pump - AB 2000i ( 18 W )

5) Chiller - Artica titanium chiller 1/10 HP ( 75 W)

6) Wave maker - tunze 6206 nano wavebox ( 10 W only ! )

7) Skimmer - H & S skimmer with AB needle wheel ( 18 W )

8) CR - RM Calcium reactor with AB 1000 ( 10W )

9) Denitirator - RM suplur Dnitirator with maxi jet pump ( 12 W )

10 ) Lighting - Lumen Auqa LED lighting ( 48 W only ! )

11) Hailei ozone generator ( 7 W )

12) Oceanus 2 x 2ft LED lighting ( 14 W) for chaeto planting

13) Tunze 6025 ( 6 W)

14) Skimz FR with rowa

TOTAL ; 263 W !!!

Well, if you wish to continue keeping it as your water pet, you will need to give it what it needs. If you don't want it, then give it away to someone who can provide for it.

I think any living organism that dies in your water will foul it.

larryng21, pls read up on potential purchases and know what you are in for before you commit. You can ask the lfs, but my advice is to verify it yourself too. Don't be concern that it will be gone when you want it - there's always the next time ....

They only eat star fishes and nothing else. Usually when we keep them we buy the cheap choc chip starfish to feed it.

I think they will be a lot of reefers here who would be glad to take it off from u. :lol:

Where can you get cheap star fishes??

I heard we can get star fishes from sister island beaches , anyone got any clues ? :unsure::rolleyes:
