FuEl
Not recommended..the coral will die of oxidative stress due to too much photosynthetic activity.. SRC Member siglap Posted May 15, 2004 Author SRC Member Share Posted May 15, 2004 softies too?
FuEl
If the softy is photosynthetic most likely the same thing will happen. But it also depends on the intensity of the light if you are giving it, for example ambient room lighting for 24 hours should'nt kill the coral. But if you give 24 hrs of PLs, it might just do so (depending on how much light is reaching the coral too). However if the soft is non-photosynthetic (Eg. cauliflowers, etc). I think it would be best not to provide too much lighting. SRC Member DragonGoby Posted May 15, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted May 15, 2004 Don't do it! Had a nasty personal experience when my timer went beserk and left the MH on overnight. My blue tip acropora turned a bright sky blue (wow) but less than 2 days later it started to undergo RTN. Must have been the stress Fuel mentioned. Not to mention your electricity bills too.
