hi guys, wonder if you people do feeding to corals like hammer,octo,frogspawn,bubbles..

do you off your powerheads?

i always have problem feeding hammers and family..

i feed them fine chopped market prawn, but it seems that they do not eat unlike feeding anemone and bubble corals..

sometimes i target feed the hammers and gonorporia by filling DT in a syringe..

am i doing the right way?

and also.do i dose DT everyday? read on the bottle that it should be feed every other day..

please advise thanks

hammers should have mouths isn't it..

if u dose DT regularly, u'll start to see more algae actually... that's IF u have a powerful light and an inefficient sump.. it's hard to target feed hammers because their mouth is rather small... i used to have this problem... u can try to cut the prawn into much smaller pieces.. worked for me at least.. :eyebrow:

and yea u are feeding the hammer and goni the right way with DT in a syringe.. but don't squirt the DT directly in front of the LS... squirt around..

The world is such a wicked place, war btween the human race. People work to earn their bread, while across the sea they're counting dead

i put the small pieces on the hammer, but it like hold on to it for 15min than left off..unless i off my pump to stop the tentacles from moving.

hihi

I feed my hammers & flowerpots with iwasaki 6.5 only.

I am also dosing phyto via slow drip &

the 'buddha over the wall' blend prepared by chef Henry

from the Lei Restaurant @ Hong Leong.

i flood my tank with his food during feeding time..

maybe i should use it to feed the hammers too..

i think u are talking about skimmer right?

im using contraphos and h&S so should be fine i guess.

Agree with Vincent. Phyto is more for filter feeders like tubeworms, scallops, clams, etc. Carnivorous corals like LPS and SPS depend greatly on zooplankton. Coralplankton & golden pearls are the best I find. ;)

Always something more important than fish.

Have replied in another thread.

Cyclopeeze vs DT

My hammers and octo only eat whats left of the food I feed my fishes.

Phyto definitely benefits them but I believe its a variety rather than strictly just one type of food.

My hammer and octo have doubled in size since I bought them 6 months ago.

Becareful not to overfeed. Cyclopeeze is power stuff. Diatoms and cyano can catch up very fast.

huh so which mean now u will be getting it for 100 plus...

wow...

think still better stick to coralPlankton better

You can buy small tubs from Henry of ML and edmund of eaquanature. They are the only 2 I know who carry this. I believe there are others too but I'm not sure.

Actually cyclopeeze frozen is many times more concentrated. Just try a bit and you will know what I mean. I only feed 1 quarter a teaspoon into my tank and the whole tank is flooded in red dots of cyclopeeze. Those who use it will know. hahaha.

The first time I was smirking at the tiny teaspoon size of cycloopeeze which I threw into my tank and after a few seconds was horrified at how concentrated it was. Fishes had a wild party man!!! Every cm cube was filled with cyclopeeze.

1 slab can last me for more than 1yr of heavy feeding daily.
