plp like me who keep the fish tank in the room will be having high humidity problem and caused some equipment like Hi Fi, TV to be rusted, CD turn mold... over some time... especially those who is using fan. A dehumidifier will reduce the water in the atmosphere and reduce the damage caused to those expansive equipment...

those chemical based dehumidifier are not a long term solution due to its cost and efficiency. I'm currently using silica gel where it could be recharged after heating it. better than chemical based (calcium choride) but still, the absorbing rate is too low. The dehumidifier that was posted are able to absorb up to 250ml of water a day and the resorvior is 500ml.... much more better than those calcium chloride/silica gel based dehumidifier.... I have 1 dehumidifier at my company storeroom which is rated max 5 litre/day.... but the dehumidifier cost more than a brand new chiller!($700+)

when using fan. its more of the salt. not the water u shld be worried abt

not really... when using fan, my waterevaporation rate could go up to 3~4 litres a day!!! where is these water gone to? just imagine what will happen to your electronics appliances/ furniture in long run?

currently, I'm using chiller + 1 unit 80mm DC fan to reduce the consumption of the chiller. The evaporation rate is less than 1 litre/day... still contributing additional humidity to the room.
