theben timers are pretty ok- works fine for normal applications without "sticking" . However, have problems using it for MH applications (150w and above).

Anyway knows a better timer? Need one for 400w MH.

Seems like Im the only joker with problems with them. Sticks once in a while with heavy applications, recently smoked out on my 2X150w plug. Anyone has a tested timer with heavy MH applications on trial for 6 months and more?

Its an electronic item which the contacts are activated by means of coil.work like switches.

For contact relays, you need to get big one for the kind current we are working on.

Also in the long run, relays will experience "sticky" contacts. ie the contacts will have difficulty swtiching between the 2 points.

but i dun think there is ani difference betwen theben and Hager as someone said that if in hot areas, the hot air will cause e timer to KO too?

**LOL** KO..haha.. knock out arhh.. but i think it is better if you can exposed the hanger to airy area so that the heat will not be trap .but at the same time, dont let saltwater comes into contact to any of them.. for me, i think it is best to place it in the cabinate if you have the hanger.. But if you still want the timer, i heard from my friend that a elecronic pre memory or a brand by the name of DELHIL is worth a try.. :)

You need to get the ES220 contactor which connect together with the hager timer to do the switching function.
