My5tic77
Has anyone used redsea nopox? Is it normal for it to cause slime in tank? Thank you for reading and happy reefy. Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app
SRC Member Kwancy Posted January 18, 2020 SRC Member Share Posted January 18, 2020 I’ve used it previously. No, it doesn’t cause slime in tank. On the contrary, it is suppose to reduce nitrate etc
My5tic77
Thanks for the reply. I guess it's my air purifier Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app
SRC Member Junwei Posted January 20, 2020 SRC Member Share Posted January 20, 2020 Yes it will most definitely cause reddish slime on the tank. It just means there is too much bacterial growth and you as re dosing too much or skimmer is not skimming out bacterial properly. Make your skimmer do a wetskim and reduce nopox dosing. My5tic77
I have stopped dosing for the time been and seems like the slime is clearing as well. Will slowly redose after it clears out. SRC Supporter Harlequinmania Posted January 21, 2020 SRC Supporter Share Posted January 21, 2020 Slime from coral is an indication of stress from corals, try check the source of the stress , if the cause is from the Nopox then try reducing it and see.Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app Quote 1000 Gallon Tank in the Hole http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/topic/120957-1000-gallon-3d-hole-in-the-wall/
My5tic77
Will observe to see is it nopox. But now tank has no more red slime. Will slowly dose back nopox. If no red slime after dosing should be my air purifier. SRC Member Indeco Posted February 6, 2020 SRC Member Share Posted February 6, 2020 can still dose nopox if have cheato refugium? You want to further reduce ur PO4 and NO3?You can dose but must be very careful cause it may cause the chaeto to die off. I saw your other thread u got caulerpa then u must be extra careful cause if it goes sexual will cause big problem to your tank.

I am using nitraguard titaniun n rowaphos, having mix reef tank I am using brightwell microbacteria n biofuel (daily 1ml) for a year but this is the lowest. Cannot keep meat coral like scoly n prata, always see skeleton then shrink and gg.

Like that u may want to remove them and try nopox. if ok then u don't need it anymore.Just make sure u skim wet for carbon dosing.
