When can i start to drip kalk?

Can i start dripping kalk during the cycle period? or must drip kalk after the full nitrogen cycle? please advise. thanks

IMO, just concentrate on completing the cycle. What is your purpose of dripping kalk now?

drip kalk when u got corals or something to feed on it, if not u will increase your tank's ph

Actually, I can see no real harm dripping kalk now other than it may be a tad wasteful?

kalkwasser is used for maintaining alkalinity and calcium levels

in tanks where there is a lot of depletion,

usually by clams and sps.

even then, there is still a need to buff CA and KH.

inverts like shrimps and crabs also need CA to moult properly,

but its on a lesser level

so unless need to, don't

i'd check your KH and CA levels before adding kalk, or any

additive for that matter.

For the addition of KALK, what he might want for his rocks is good coraline agale, thus IMO, it is to check and maintain the calcium level as an when required as the agale depleted the calcium level as well.
